Since Nita Kehoe joined the CWC faculty in 2000 she has become responsible for the art on campus. She developed the outdoor sculpture exhibit, which has become one of the largest exhibits west of the Mississippi. Each year, she attracts a guest artist to campus to create an installation to make the exhibit grow.
As gallery director, Nita ensures that there are visiting artists exhibiting their work in the Robert A. Peck Arts Center monthly. These artists frequently conduct workshops with the art department as well as present gallery talks during their exhibits.
As an artist, Nita works in a variety of media, including wood, stone, bronze casting, welding and fiber. She has exhibited and sold her work nationally and internationally, including the Yitzak Exhibit in Israel.
She teaches a variety of studio classes at CWC, including sculpture, wood and stone carving, welding and bronze casting.
Nita has a MFA in sculpture from the University of Cincinnati.
