RUSTLER SPOTLIGHT: IKE LYNN

RUSTLER SPOTLIGHT: IKE LYNN

Portrait of Ike Lynn

Ike Lynn, a freshman at CWC, enjoyed living abroad before landing in Wyoming and attending college. He spent time in Hungary, Germany, Austria, Northern Italy, Romania and Slovenia doing humanitarian work. He traveled with a church group where they worked at camps for children, built churches and did other humanitarian work.

“I wanted to put a helping hand forward and it was a great experience to learn what I could do and what I could handle personally,” Lynn said. “It was rewarding.”

His family was living in North Carolina when they decided it was time to move to Wyoming. It was Lynn’s father who prompted the family to move to the area; an area that he traveled a lot during his professional rodeo career.

Lynn who grew up with horses, has a passion for animals and decided to attend CWC’s equine program.

This program lets you ride on day one. I really like the atmosphere here, everyone is accepting and nice. I really appreciate my instructor, Jennifer Cole. She helps prepare us for the future. ”

Lynn said the program offers courses that will help him have the equine center he hopes to own and operate some day. When he isn’t at the equine center earning his degree, Lynn enjoys playing and writing music, art, swimming and hiking. He is also on the Ranch Horse team and the soccer team.

He was nominated by Patrick Edwards, admissions director.

“Ike is a hard-working student who came to CWC from Jacksonville, North Carolina,” Edwards said. “He works at the equine center and as a deputy recruiter. He was also on the Dean’s list for the fall semester. Ike is a hard worker and brings amazing energy to CWC.”
