WILD AND SCENIC FILM FESTIVAL AT CWC APRIL 25

The Wild and Scenic Film Festival is coming to Central Wyoming College Thursday, April 25.

Sponsored by the Wyoming Outdoor Council and Wild Iris Mountain Sports, the festival features movies from around the globe. Nine films are shown from 6:30-9 p.m. in the CWC Little Theatre. The films are also shown in the Monarch Room at Lander’s Pronghorn Lodge on April 26 from 6:30-9 p.m.

Advanced tickets, available at the WOC or at Wild Iris, are $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Tickets at the door are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Student tickets are $5 and include a one-year WOC membership. There is free admission with a first-time $15 WOC membership.
All tickets go into a raffle for prizes and give-a-ways.

The film festival was started in 2003 by the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL, pronounced circle), a watershed advocacy group based in the foothills of the Sierra range of northern California. The theme of the 2013 festival is “A Climate of Change,” and the films feature climate change.

“Some are relevant to current issues that Wyoming faces and some are fun and whimsical,” said WOC’s Administrative Coordinator Linda Sisco.
