VOCAL, JAZZ MUSICIANS PERFORM IN CONCERT APRIL 26

Central Wyoming College vocal and instrumental jazz ensembles perform in concert Friday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theatre.

An instrumental jazz combo, under the direction of instrumental instructor Jason Ogg, is playing “So What” by Miles Davis, “There is No Greater Love” by Isham Jones and Marty Symes and “Billie’s Bounce” by Charlie Parker.

Ogg is also the leader of the Time’s-A-Wastin’ big band, which is playing Stan Kenton’s “Opus in Pastels,” and “Lester Jumps Out,” by Bob Mintzer. The group is also playing “Sophisticated Lady” by Duke Eillington, Irving Mills and Mitchell Parish, Pat Metheny’s “If I Could,” and “The Chicken,” a tune by Alfred James Ellis and arranged by Kris Berg.

The vocal jazz ensemble, JAZZMAGIC, under the direction of Robert Hussa, sings “Africa,” by Toto and the Beach Boys’ hit “In My Room.”

The concert is free and the public is welcome to attend.
