VIOLINIST, PIANIST PERFORM AT CWC ARTS CENTER SEPT. 11

An intimate one-hour concert featuring violinist Qing Li and pianist Richard Dowling is performed at Central Wyoming College Wednesday, Sept. 11.

The 7:30 p.m. concert is free and is presented by the CWC Music Department and the Wyoming Arts Council in the Robert A Peck Arts Center Theatre.

Li is a sought-after chamber musician and is admired as one of the country’s most accomplished orchestra players. Born in Beijing, China, Li began studying violin at age four and was accepted to the Central Conservatory at 12. She has won numerous international competitions and awards and has played in halls throughout America, Europe, Asia and South America.

Dowling has been hailed by The New York Times as “an especially impressive fine young pianist,” and appears regularly across the United States in solo recitals and concerts with orchestras. Career highlights include a sold-out orchestral debut at the Lincoln Center and a solo recital at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The recording artist studied at Yale University and the University of Texas, where he earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance.

The concert at CWC is sponsored by the Piatigorsky Foundation and the Murial and Seymour Thickman Family Charitable Foundation is funding the tour of Wyoming. The musicians will also perform concerts in Powell and Rock Springs.
