CWC PRESENTS ‘EVENING WITH THE ARTS’ IN DUBOIS MARCH 14

Central Wyoming College performing and visual artists present “An Evening with the Arts” at Dubois High School Thursday, March 14 at 7 p.m.

The evening includes music by the CWC Concert Band, the Collegiate Chorale, a vocal jazz ensemble visual as well as short comedy sketches. Images of art projects by CWC arts students will also be available.

“We have brought performances to the Dubois community in the past, but never this many at once,” said CWC Vocal Music Professor Robert Hussa, who has organized the event. “We will have more than 50 performers visit Dubois that evening.”

The Concert Band, under the direction of Jason Ogg, is inviting guest musicians from the Dubois High School Band to perform. A recent addition to the CWC faculty, Ogg performs a saxophone concerto. Originally from Riverton, Ogg is completing his doctoral work in saxophone performance at the University of Georgia.

CWC’s touring vocal jazz ensemble JAZZMAGIC is presenting two a cappella pieces, and the 35-member Collegiate Chorale is also entertaining the crowd.

The two short comedy selections are Saturday Night Live-style sketches that have been adapted by student director Shanelle Anderson. Also featured will be CWC sophomore music/Theater major Zedekiah Mills and comedy music from theater majors Amanda Hessler and Cody Mock.

“This is a way for us to thank the Dubois community for the students they have sent us, for the financial help to our CWC Foundation, and the continued support for CWC’s mission in Fremont County,” said Hussa. “It is always a pleasure for us to bring something back to our friends.”
Admission to the performance is free.
