CWC BOARD SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR RIVERTON-SHOSHONI SEAT

The Central Wyoming College Board is seeking applicants interested in replacing trustee Judy Pedersen who verbally tendered her resignation at the board’s Jan. 16, 2013 meeting.
 
Since Pedersen’s resignation was unexpected and the board is statutorily required to fill the vacancy within 30 days, the board held a special meeting Wednesday night to officially accept the resignation and to develop a process for filling the seat.
 
The board is asking those interested in serving in Pedersen’s seat until the next general election to call Board Clerk Linda Bender by Feb. 4 at (307) 855-2102 or 1-800-735-8418, ext. 2102 or email lbender@cwc.edu. The board clerk will send candidates an application packet which must be returned to the President’s Office by Feb. 8. CWC trustees will interview the candidates during their Feb. 20, 2013, meeting and the successful applicant will be sworn in at the end of the meeting. Applicants must be a resident of the Riverton-Shoshoni subdistrict.
 
The board accepted Pedersen’s resignation, effective immediately, with thanks for her contributions to the college and community through her eight years of service on the CWC Board. Pedersen served one four-year term from 1994-98 and again from 2008-2012. She was re-elected to the board in November.
