THEATER, ACTIVITIES SPONSOR TRAIL OF TERROR

THEATER, ACTIVITIES SPONSOR TRAIL OF TERROR

With October being the season of horrors and hobgoblins, Central Wyoming College invites those who dare to walk the Halloween Trail of Terror Oct. 26 and 27.

Sponsored by the CWC Theater Department and Student Activities, guided tours of outdoor campus haunts are provided by theater students Rustin Burr and Zedikiah Mills from 7-10 p.m. on both evenings.

The tours, which last about 10 minutes, are free though donations will be accepted and forwarded to the Tough Enough Cancer Fund in honor of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To take the frightful journey, meet the guides in the northwest corner of the CWC Arts Center parking lot.

CWC theater students are creating horrific hideaways and thrills for all ages, and Student Activities provide refreshments. “There will definitely be scary creatures and scary moments,” Theater Director Mike Myers said, while promising it shouldn’t be so intense as to traumatize young children.

Students in Myers’ directing class are responsible for developing the fright venues, selecting costumes and turning campus grounds into the fright destination of Fremont County. CWC Quality Leaders and members of the Outdoor Adventure Club are also assisting on the Trail of Terror.

“The theater department is the perfect entity for Halloween,” said Myers who has always wanted to create a haunted house. “We have the skills to do it, but don’t have the time because we are always putting on plays.”

He has more than 30 students working on this project. “It’s free and if everyone donates, we could possibly make a lot of money for the cancer fund,” Myers concluded.
