Alumni Spotlight - Kali Howe

Alumni Spotlight – Kali Howe

My time at Central Wyoming College was very valuable. I received a wonderful education. I was able to complete most of the prerequisites I needed for my bachelor’s degree at CWC while having the benefits of smaller class sizes and more accessibility to my professors. I was a member of the Lady Rustler’s volleyball team and my professors were always very flexible and accommodating to help me be successful as a student athlete. Balancing academics and athletics wasn’t always easy, but I received a great deal of support from the community and CWC as a whole that helped me be successful. I graduated with my Associate’s from CWC in December of 2012. My time and education at CWC set me up to have a smooth transition to the University of Wyoming where I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in May 2016.

After graduating with my BSN, I moved to Casper, WY and worked as a nurse on the Progressive Care Unit at Wyoming Medical Center for a little over two years. I then went to the Washington D.C. area and worked as a travel nurse at a hospital I Bethesda, MD for 6 months. After missing my family, friends, and the mountains, I left D.C. and moved to Denver in the spring of 2019. I started a job in the Cardiac Cath Lab at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO where I spent the last three years. During my time in Denver (and having a little more free time due to COVID restrictions) I went back to school to pursue my Master’s degree. I graduated with my Master’s of Science – Leadership in Healthcare Systems degree in December of 2021 from Regis University. Most recently, I moved back to Wyoming and am working as a nurse in the Cardiac Cath Lab at the hospital in Cheyenne.

I’m thankful Central Wyoming College gave me a solid foundation to my higher education. Education is something that I greatly value and I don’t regret starting my college experience at CWC. I have many fond memories from my time spent there and am thankful for all of the friendships I formed and people I met along the way!
