RUSTLER SPOTLIGHT: MORGAN MASSON

RUSTLER SPOTLIGHT: MORGAN MASSON

portrait of CWC student Morgan Masson

Morgan Masson is a sophomore studying elementary education. A Riverton resident, Masson chose Central Wyoming College because it provided her the educational opportunity she was looking for and allowed her to stay close to home.

“I love that I am able to have an opportunity to learn about learning,” Masson said about studying her degree. “It is really interesting to me to see how kids think and process information. It’s also incredible to see the community of educators not only locally but around the world.”

Masson said her biggest role models and supporters were her teachers and this was a determining factor for choosing a degree in education.

“I decided that I wanted to have the same positive influence for others that I was given,” she said. “Going through all the possible careers that I could choose from, I knew that none of them would be more rewarding than becoming an educator.”

Masson plans to continue her education at CWC and earn a Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education. She will graduate spring of 2023 and plans to apply for teaching positions and be involved in the community.

Masson said she loves how personable the staff at CWC are.

I feel like my professors genuinely care about my education and want me to be successful. I really enjoy all of the fun activities CWC hosts such as movie and game nights. ”

Masson was nominated by Colleen Bartlett, professor of education and early childhood.

“She is an excellent student,” Bartlett said. “She is very excited to be a teacher and she learns as much as she can in her classes to help her meet that goal. She is a very positive person and I have enjoyed having her in class.”
