The Popo Agie Conservation District and CWC’s Alpine Science Institute will host the ninth annual “Mini” Garden Expo June 5 and 12. The 2021 Garden Expo will utilize two different dates and two different locations.

The trade show is June 5 at Lander’s City Park, from 9 am to 1 pm and the hands-on workshops will be June 12 at CWC Alpine Science Institute, formerly Sinks Canyon Center, beginning at 9 am. A full description of the workshops and registration information can be found at cwclander.eventbrite.com or www.popoagie.org.

The Garden Expo is a free, family-friendly event geared towards those who enjoy gardening, spending time relaxing in their backyard, or getting out to enjoy all of the recreational opportunities the area has to offer.

The Expo has more than just gardening, it also includes backyard living and outdoor recreation. The Expo will offer a variety of booths ranging from merchants selling items to experts offering advice to agencies offering education on current issues.

Whether you’re interested in types of plants, building a deck, discovering the best locations to hike, or learning about any regulations you need to know when you’re out and about, you’ll find it at the Expo. ”

There will be food concessions and activities for the kids. This year, the trade show will coincide with the kick-off of the Lander Valley Farmers market and to celebrate both events there will be live music from the Low Water String Band.

CWC’s Alpine Science Institute will take the workshops to a whole new level by providing workshops. The workshops are more hands-on than in past years.

“So prepare to get your hands dirty,” said Dave Morneau, PACD Conservation Technician.

Busy Bee Gardening will have activities for the kids while parents can engage in a workshop. Family Gardening is for the whole family to learn tips and tricks and how to garden with little helpers.

Workshops are free but class size is limited and registration is required. Morning workshops will be repeated in the afternoon. To register for the workshops, go to cwclander.eventbrite.com.
