ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT - KATHY (CLYMORE) OERTER

Kathy (Clymore) Oerter,

I am a native-born Wyomingite raised in Cody. I moved to Riverton my freshman year of High school and graduated from Wyoming Connections Academy in 2012. I briefly attended Northwest College before returning to Fremont County and joining the workforce. In Spring of 2020 I decided to continue my education by attending Central Wyoming College.

As a CWC student I was greatly encouraged and influenced by my professors. So much so that I was recommended for a position in the CWC Business Office only a few weeks before graduating with my AAS degree. I am still extremely grateful that I am able to continue being a part of the CWC community.

Each of my courses gave me critical skills that I apply daily. However, the most important lesson I came away with is how much it means to have others invested in my journey. The relationships I developed in my time as a student had a profound influence on my educational and career outcomes. It is an honor that I am in a position to do that for other students at Central Wyoming College.

After graduation, Kathy was hired as the cashier for CWC’s business office. She currently works in Accounts Receivable.
