Protecting the Circle: Addressing Human Trafficking, MMIP & MMIR

Tuesday, April 21 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Central Wyoming College’s Institute of Tribal Learning invites the community to attend Protecting the Circle, a two-hour event focused on raising awareness and inspiring action around human trafficking and Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR).

This program brings together national and local voices to connect global issues of exploitation with the realities faced in the Wind River community.

Keynote Speaker:
Tyler Schwab — Human Rights Activist & Author, Founder/President at Libertas International

Featured speakers include local leaders of MMIP and MMIR307

The event will also incorporate cultural protocols, including cedaring and prayers led by Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone elders, grounding the conversation in community, tradition, and healing.

Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of these critical issues and learn how to support local initiatives, including participation in MMIP Awareness Day on May 5.

Date: Tuesday, April 21, 2026
Time: 4–6 p.m.
Location: CWC Health & Science Building, Room HS100
