CWC student Shay Chand recently completed an internship with Direct Haven Health Systems LLC, focusing on market research. This was Shay’s first time working in a real-world setting, applying research skills outside the classroom.
At the beginning, Shay felt nervous about taking on something new. But with guidance from the Direct Haven team, the transition was smooth. Over the course of the internship, Shay learned how to organize and analyze market data effectively—skills that will be valuable for future projects and career steps.
Shay also gained insight into the direct primary care model and came away as a strong supporter of the practice. The experience made a lasting impact, both professionally and personally.
This internship gave Shay practical knowledge, built confidence, and sparked continued interest in innovative healthcare models.
