Quarantine lifted at equine center

Quarantine lifted at equine center

The recent quarantine has been lifted from the CWC Equine Center in the case of vesicular stomatitis virus that was confirmed in Fremont County and at the equine center which resulted in two horses contracting the virus.

“This was a mild case and we only saw small dime size lesions on the horses,” said Jennifer Cole, assistant professor of equine studies. “All horses are healed and are back to work.”

Cole met with a representative from the Wyoming State Veterinarian office early this morning and they officially lifted the quarantine.

“Classes and horse movement to and from the facility can proceed as normal,” Cole said. “Thank you all for your patience and the roll you played in stopping the spread of VSV.”
