It was during high school that Morgan Vanetti realized her passion was in film. Her love for film making and seeing her work on a big screen lead her to a film degree at Central Wyoming College, the only film program in Wyoming.

“I like how creative you can get and how many options there are to making a film,” Vanetti said. She said she really enjoys editing techniques and really creating something for someone to enjoy whether it makes them laugh, cry or be scared.

The Casper native will graduate this May with a degree in film and new media. Her plans after graduation are to earn a bachelor’s degree in film. Her dream school is the University of Southern California but she has also applied to other film schools like New York University. Her ultimate dream is to work for Marvel Studios.

I want to learn more and to be passionate about what I do. I love the film program. I love all the equipment I was able to use. I love that it’s so hands-on here with learning.

Vanetti said she was able to be creative and have the freedom to be creative at CWC. During her time at CWC she also worked for WyomingPBS and filmed the athletic events on campus. She was also a resident adviser for housing, captain of the women’s soccer team and secretary for the Entrada club.

Vanetti was nominated by her club adviser, Laura Phagan.

“I have watched Morgan grow immensely these past few years,” Phagan said. “She was timid and shy when she first came to CWC but through time she has become a leader and a great problem solver. Her leadership shows compassion towards others while focusing on the task at hand.”

In Vanetti’s free time she enjoys longboarding or penny boarding, playing hacky sack, binge watching series when time allots and she enjoys going to school activities.
