CWC OFFERS COLLEGE CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE

Central Wyoming College has an excellent opportunity for potential students who have been in the workforce and have always wanted to earn a degree. CWC will evaluate the knowledge and skills an individual has gained outside of the classroom for college credit. This evaluation is called credit for prior learning.

“We have recently expanded to make this more available for more students,” said Cory Daly, vice president for student affairs. “We recognize how hard it is for adults to manage work, family, and college. This is one way we hope to make things a little easier: credit for prior learning is a head start on earning a degree.”

The CWC credit for prior learning program helps adult students use skills they already have and put these skills towards degrees or certificates. This program will help eliminate redundancies for students and can also save money and time earning a degree.

Anyone who is interested in having their relevant work experience assessed for college credit can contact Rustler Central at 855-2115, especially if they have any kind of industry certifications. There are no specific degree programs that credit for prior learning is qualified for. Potential students need to contact Rustler Central to find out if their relevant work experience will qualify as credits for the degree they are interested in.
