Central Wyoming College and The Learning Center of Hot Springs County Sign Agreement to Expand Educational Opportunities in Thermopolis
Thermopolis, Wyo. — Central Wyoming College (CWC) and The Learning Center of Hot Springs County have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to expand access to higher education, workforce training, and professional development opportunities in Thermopolis and throughout Hot Springs County.
The agreement outlines collaboration between the college and the Learning Center to provide community-based educational programming, support local workforce needs, and increase pathways for residents to pursue college and career readiness opportunities.
Through the partnership, Central Wyoming College will provide staffing and support for an outreach coordinator role and help facilitate courses, training opportunities, and community partnerships designed to meet the educational and workforce needs of local residents. The Learning Center will collaborate with CWC to recruit students, identify local instructors, and help guide program offerings that best serve the community.
The partnership builds on the Learning Center’s mission to expand opportunity through education, workforce preparation, and services that help individuals meet their personal and professional goals.
“This partnership reflects Central Wyoming College’s commitment to meeting students where they are and expanding access to education in every community we serve,” said Daniel Blair, Thermopolis Outreach Coordinator and Career Path Navigator for Central Wyoming College and The Learning Center. “Working alongside The Learning Center allows us to connect residents with college courses, workforce training, and resources that help them build skills, pursue new careers, and strengthen the local economy.”
The agreement will enhance collaboration with local schools, businesses, government partners, and community organizations to ensure educational offerings align with the needs of the region.
“We are proud to add this partnership to the educational opportunities we already provide in Thermopolis,” said Christy Pyles, Program Director for Central Wyoming College’s High School Equivalency program. “Central Wyoming College has a strong foundation in supporting adult learners through programs like HiSET, and expanding access in Thermopolis will help even more residents take the next step toward their educational and career goals.”
By strengthening the connection between Central Wyoming College and the Learning Center, the partnership aims to make higher education and career training more accessible for residents while supporting long-term community growth.
