Central Wyoming College Celebrates Graduation of 2026 Class and Honors Distinguished Individuals

Central Wyoming College graduates celebrating during the 2026 commencement ceremony in Riverton, Wyoming, honoring student achievement and distinguished community leaders.

Riverton/Jackson, Wyo.Central Wyoming College (CWC) is set to commemorate the graduation of its 2026 class with ceremonies to be held Friday, May 15, at the Robert A. Peck Arts Center in Riverton. The commencement ceremonies, open to the public, will begin at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The Nurses Pinning Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 14, at 7 p.m. in the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theater. The Jackson Graduation & Pinning Ceremony will take place Saturday, May 16, at 1 p.m. at the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson. The Riverton ceremonies will be livestreamed.

Amid the anticipation of caps flying and diplomas being conferred, Central Wyoming College will also recognize outstanding individuals whose contributions have left lasting impacts on both the institution and the community.

Among the highlights of this year’s graduation, Central Wyoming College proudly announces the conferral of an honorary degree upon Mary Ann Duran.

Duran will receive the Associate of Humane Letters (AHL) in recognition of her extraordinary commitment to education, healthcare, cultural preservation, and community service. Widely regarded as a treasured member of the community, Duran is one of only a few living Northern Arapaho language speakers and has dedicated her life to preserving and sharing the Northern Arapaho language, culture, and traditions.

Central Wyoming College will also honor former welding professor Darryl Steeds with the rank of Professor Emeritus in recognition of his years of dedicated service and lasting impact on students and the college community.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the graduation of our 2026 class and to honor these distinguished individuals who have left an indelible mark on our community and institution,” said CWC President Brad Tyndall. “Their achievements embody the spirit of Central Wyoming College, inspiring us all to make a positive difference in the world.”

The commencement ceremonies will feature distinguished speakers, recognition of awards and honors, and the conferral of certificates and degrees. The program promises to be a memorable event, marking the culmination of years of hard work and dedication for the graduates.
