Jackson, Wyo. – Central Wyoming College (CWC) today announced a new interim leadership structure for its Jackson campus, ensuring strong oversight and community partnerships as the college prepares to open its permanent Jackson home in 2026.

Kathy WellsThe plan positions senior leadership to guide the campus through this important transition. CWC has appointed Kathy Wells, Vice President for Academic Affairs, to serve as interim administrator in addition to her current role. She will spend dedicated time in Jackson working closely with faculty, staff, and students to build strong academic and community partnerships for current and future programs. It will also allow time for establishing new and reinforcing existing processes to strengthen the college’s effectiveness.

President Brad Tyndall emphasized that the decision to delay a permanent dean search until spring is intentional and strategic.

“For nearly 50 years, CWC has served Jackson from leased spaces. Our new building represents a monumental investment in the community and the first time we will have a permanent home,” said Tyndall. “By engaging senior leadership directly in this interim period, we ensure the Jackson campus is positioned for success from day one.”

As part of the plan, key leaders—including Executive Director of the CWC Foundation Beth Monteiro and other senior staff—will rotate to Jackson to lead training, onboarding, and team-building initiatives. This approach will align campus operations with college-wide priorities while cultivating strong academic and philanthropic partnerships to enhance future programming and student services.

Wells said she looks forward to working side by side with the Jackson team during this pivotal time.

“I am excited to be on the ground in Jackson with our incredible staff,” Wells said. “This is a rare opportunity to shape culture, deepen community ties, and build the support systems our students deserve as we prepare for an extraordinary new era in a state-of-the-art facility.”

The new Jackson building, scheduled to open in 2026, marks a historic milestone for Central Wyoming College and its commitment to serving the students and communities of Teton County.
