CWC’s Fall Music Concert Series kicks off in October

Central Wyoming College is excited to present two upcoming music concerts, offering a delightful variety of performances.

On Tuesday, October 22, from 7 to 8 PM, the CWC Handbell Choir will perform alongside the CWC Collegiate and Masters Chorale. The handbell choir, featuring seven talented musicians, will play a mix of original handbell music and well-known favorites, including “Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen,” “Streets of Laredo,” and “I’ve Been Workin’ on the Railroad.”

The CWC Collegiate and Masters Chorale, with 25 singers, will offer a vibrant selection, from toe-tapping tunes like “Yonder Come Day” and “Since I Laid my Burden Down” to the serenely beautiful “Music of Life” and “Traveler’s Hymn”.

CWC Sophomore William Bush will perform two solo vocal selections between these group performances.

Then, mark your calendars for Thursday, November 7, from 7 to 9 PM, when the CWC Band and Time’s A Wastin’ Jazz Ensemble will take the stage for the Fall Band Showcase. This lively evening will feature a diverse mix of band and jazz music that is sure to entertain.

The college band’s program will include the premiere of a brand new piece of music written by Aidan Freeman, a recent graduate of Hot Springs County High School, as well as a 100th birthday tribute to the iconic American musician Henry Mancini. The jazz band will present a diverse set that includes a recent James Bond movie song, the classic Weather Report hit “Birdland,” and a unique new arrangement of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”

Both concerts are family-friendly, free to the public, and will be held at the CWC Robert A. Peck Arts Center.

Don’t miss out on these evenings filled with music and community!
