RUSTLER SPOTLIGHT: MADELINE MEIDELL

RUSTLER SPOTLIGHT: MADELINE MEIDELL

Portrait of Madeline Meidell

Madeline Meidell grew up on a ranch in Harrison, Nebraska. She has seen the various spectrums of ranching and wants to help the ranching community by working with animals. Her goal is to someday have her own vet clinic.

“Helping animals is my passion and I want to help ranchers,” Meidell said.

It was during a visit to CWC that she fell in love with the campus and decided to attend. Being from a small town, Meidell liked the small town feel.

Professors here really care, you’re not just a number. ”

After she graduates, Meidell plans on attending the University of Wyoming to get a bachelor’s degree before she attends a vet school. While she isn’t sure which school that will be, she is currently interested in Colorado State University. Her end goal is to move back to Nebraska and open up her own vet clinic.

Meidell is a member of the rodeo team and also works as a deputy recruiter. She has loved her first year here and is looking forward to next year.

Meidell was nominated by Patrick Edwards, director of admissions.

“Maddie is an amazing student from Harrison, Nebraska,” Edwards said. “Her first semester here she was on the Dean’s list, participated on the Rodeo team, worked at the equine center and as a deputy recruiter. She is taking classes to be pre-vet and has done an amazing job so far. She works hard every day and is always staying busy. She gives amazing tours to prospective students and gets positive feedback often.”
