portrait of CWC student Peter Prestrud

Peter Prestrud has always been interested in film and computer technology. When he met with film instructor Jeremy Nielsen he knew CWC was the school he wanted to attend.

Jeremy was an interesting person and I thought the program would be cool. It’s a valuable program and you get a high quality education just like you would at a university. My main goal is to make it in Hollywood in some form. ”

Prestrud has one more semester to complete his degrees in film and computer technology. After graduation he plans to transfer to a four year college and is currently looking at schools in California or Montana State University. Prestrud said he wants to get a bachelor’s degree in both film and computer technology.

Being from Jackson, Prestrud enjoys mountain biking, hiking and skiing in his free time. He also enjoys making commercials and spending time with friends. He was nominated by Lisa Appelhans, Student Support Services tutor and skills coach.

“Peter is a conscientious student, does his best in his classes and helps other students,” Appelhans said. “He encourages as a tutor, he is very patient with fellow students who are not as familiar with technology. He does not mind repeating steps to students, more than once, when they don’t remember how to use programs in the computer application classes. He also works in the computer technology program to trouble-shoot and repair student’s computers and other electronic devices.”
