JACKPOT SERIES TO START IN FEBRUARY

CWC student rides her horse around a barrel for a barrel clinic class

Central Wyoming College Equine Center will host a jackpot series which will start Feb. 4 and will continue Feb. 25 and March 4. The jackpot series is run by CWC students in the horse event production class from the equine studies program. All proceeds will go directly back to the equine program and students.

“We are looking to raise money to go to the Certified Horsemanship Association conference in Kentucky at the horse park,” said Jasmyne Bryant, equine student and arena director for the jackpots. Equine students who take the teaching riding course are certified through CHA.

Events are open to adults and youth. Events include barrels, poles, breakaway and goat tying. Entry fees are $30 per open event and $10 per youth event. Pre entries must be received by noon on the Friday prior to each jackpot. There are no call in entries. Arena and late entries will open at 8am on the day of the jackpot. Late entries will be charged a $10 fee.

Come participate, have fun and enjoy! Get out of the house for the day. I’m excited for the Jackpots to be here, I’m ready to compete. They’re a lot of work but definitely worth it. ”

The barrel time onlys start at 9am and open barrels will follow. The pre entry draw will be posted at 8am the day of the jackpot, late entries will run last. Entry forms can be sent to Dana Nicholls by mail at CWC Equine Program, 2660 Peck Avenue, Riverton WY 82501 or email at dana@cwc.edu.
