Central Wyoming College Athletic Director Steve Barlow announced Monday, Nov. 12, that the men’s and women’s soccer program will begin its recruiting process with the official hiring of a new head coach this week.
Brooks Paskett, a Riverton, Wyoming native, has officially accepted the head coaching position for both the men’s and women’s teams which will have their first NJCAA competitive matches in fall 2019.
Paskett was an assistant coach for five years at the collegiate level in New York for Hunter College, City University of New York. He also coached at New York University for the women’s program for one year prior to that time. Before coaching, he played and was a player/coach for numerous clubs including Central Wyoming College and the University of Wyoming. He has also competed in international soccer matches.
“I am very happy that Brooks will be leading our new program as he is familiar with who we are at CWC and with the state of Wyoming. Anytime you’re starting a new program you are looking for a coach who will be dedicated to the program, the college, and the community and I believe we have found that person in Brooks,” Barlow said. “I am very excited about his passion for the game and his understanding of what it takes to be successful at the college level.”
Paskett has begun his recruiting process locally, throughout the state, and will also pull from international contacts he has made throughout his soccer career.
