Central Wyoming College Names Dr. Brad Tyndall as Interim President

In a special board meeting Monday evening, the Central Wyoming College Board of Trustees named Dr. Brad Tyndall, who is the current vice President of academic affairs, to be the Interim President of the college from July 25, 2016 through June 30, 2017. The vote was unanimous. According to Board Chair Dr. Colton Crane, the board considered input from the college cabinet and many others.

“We wanted to choose someone who would provide stability, was familiar to faculty and staff and who would continue in the positive path CWC is on,” Crane said.

We are happy and excited to offer this position to Dr. Tyndall. ”

Tyndall joined CWC in August of 2015 as the vice president of academic affairs.

“Dr. Tyndall has a great temperament, understands community colleges, and has demonstrated his leadership ability for the past year,” said Cris Valdez, president. “Brad has all of the qualities that the Board of Trustees and the college are looking for and I wish him the best of luck.”

Dr. Crane referred to Tyndall’s “impressive resume” which includes 16 years as a chief academic officer in Colorado, New Mexico, Missouri and Wyoming, 12 years of presidential cabinet experience, 12 years serving on state-wide academic councils and seven years of foundation board experience. In addition to leadership experience, Tyndall was a Fulbright Scholar in Kenya, is proficient in multiple language including French, Arabic and spoken Ethiopian, and has more than 12 years of High Learning Commission accreditation. He has extensive experience in academic and student affairs, workforce development, dual and concurrent enrollment and institutional effectiveness.

“I hope the staff knows that we want to support an environment of security that allows them to continue the hard work they are doing,” said Nicole Schoening, board trustee.  Trustee Mickey Douglas said many of the comments she received were positive for Dr. Tyndall and most came from employees.

Following the vote and comments from the Board, Dr. Tyndall addressed the Board.  “I am truly very excited and honored by this opportunity. There are a lot of great things to continue. We will set new heights and continue the course toward student success. I am thankful to the Board of Trustees for believing in me and giving me this opportunity,” Tyndall said.

“Central Wyoming College is excited to be a part of something that is elevating the importance of career paths where people can be really successful,” says President Brad Tyndall. “Trades, like our auto program, are so desperately needed by our communities right now. We’re incredibly thankful for Metallica’s generosity and All Within My Hands’ support.”

“Metallica’s mission to bring ‘dignity to the trades’ is aligned with Central Wyoming College’s purpose of providing high quality education in all of our trades programs,” says Lynne McAuliffe, CWC Dean of Business, Technical, Health and Safety. “We selected the Automotive Technology program to be the focus of this initiative in order to bring additional resources and attention to the demanding profession of automotive technicians.”
