Cross country remains consistent at Roadrunner Invitational
Central Wyoming College cross country team traveled to Denver, Colorado on Oct. 3 to compete in the 7th Annual Roadrunner Invitational. The race was at Washington Park where the men competed in an 8k and the women a 6k.
“We were one of the two Junior Colleges competing at this race,” said Al Lara, cross country coach.
The men were led by Tyler Ellicott crossing the finish line at 30:36, with fellow Rustler teammates following shortly behind him, Trenton Smith with a time of 31:28 and James Asmus finishing with a time of 31:33.

In the women’s division the Rustlers were led by Jessica Stewart finishing with a time of 29:35 with teammate Jessie Walker right behind her coming in at 30:24.
“Jessica keeps improving each race and is learning a lot running against these four year schools,” Lara said.
The Rustlers continue their season on Friday, Oct. 7 in a duel against Montana State Northern at Sinks Canyon Center. The women’s race will begin at 9am with the men to follow.
