On Saturday, the lady Rustlers took on Western Nebraska Community College; 86-62. Criss-Felton brought in 16 points and Paulus brought in 18 points for the team; the only two to score in double digits. The team played well above their opponent in free throws and shot 17 of 20 converting to 85 percent. WNCC played 63.2 percent but had a better average in field goals, 52.3 percent, where the Rustlers only played 38.9 percent.
“This team beat us 59 points last time,” Swartz said. “We played them and I think this game showed our heart and how much we wanted to compete. To play them that well is great to see when we could have just given up before the game even started. The girls played well and are continuing to progress.
