CWC’s theatre gives brilliant performance of Hamlet

Shakespeare can be arduous to read and comprehend, let alone have the ability to perform it in front of an audience but CWC’s theatre department gave a brilliant performance of Hamlet in the opening performance last night in the Robert A. Peck Arts Center theatre.

Drew Thornton gave an impressive performance as Hamlet with Shakespearean words rolling off his tongue with ease. He exuded the very definition of a man gone crazy with grief when his life is flipped upside down by much affliction. Thornton gave an intense performance throughout the play.

Courtney Olsen, playing Hamlets beloved Ophelia, gave a sorrowful performance as a sweet innocent young girl who is soon plagued with grief. Olsen did an outstanding job delving into the mind of a once innocent girl into a maddening person.

The other cast members also gave an impressive performance and each had supporting roles that made Hamlet come to life.

Hamlet will be performed all this week, Dec. 1-6. Dec. 1-4 at 7:30 pm. Dec. 5 at 2:30 and 7:30 pm and a final performance on Sunday at 2:30 pm.
