PRESENTATION ON EYE TO EYE OPEN TO PUBLIC
A presentation on Eye to Eye, a program that pairs children with learning disorders with high school and college mentors, is open to the public.
Central Wyoming College’s Foundation of Special Education class is hosting Spencer West, a University of Wyoming psychology major who is the student coordinator of the UW Eye to Eye chapter at 2:30 p.m., April 3 in the Health and Science Auditorium (HS100).
Eye to Eye is a national movement that matches learning-disabled children with high school and college-aged students who have been similarly labeled. While growing up in Green River, West recognized he was a different kind of thinker. In the eleventh grade he was diagnosed with dyslexia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Using an arts-based curriculum, the mentors help children they are paired with to understand their unique ways of learning and thinking to build self esteem and skills.
