BOARD HOSTS OPEN PUBLIC FORUM ON PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH PROCESS

BOARD HOSTS OPEN PUBLIC FORUM ON PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH PROCESS

The Central Wyoming College Board of Trustees has scheduled a public forum to provide information on the process for hiring the next president of CWC.

The forum is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 19 in the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theatre from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Board Chair Charlie Krebs said the forum gives the public and college staff an opportunity to meet with search consultants from the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT), an organization that has conducted more than 400 community college presidential searches.

He also invites interested people to provide input on the college’s priorities and the ideal characteristics of the new president via an online survey.

The search consultants will compile the responses from the survey and the input provided at the public forum to prepare a draft Presidential Profile for review and approval by the board. “We look forward to your active participation in this process,” Krebs said.

The board is holding an executive session prior to its Feb. 18 meeting to further discuss the type of search process for selecting a successor to longtime President Jo Anne McFarland, who is retiring June 30.

“The Board is committed to conducting an equitable, participatory, inclusive, and fair search that will attract a strong pool of candidates locally, regionally and nationally,” Krebs said in the email to staff Thursday morning.

The college has posted information related to the search.
