SPEECH TEAM SUCCESSFUL AT TOURNAMENTS HELD DURING BREAK

Members of Central Wyoming College’s forensics team were successful at two tournaments held during the holiday break in Salt Lake City, Utah Jan. 4-6.

In his first ever intercollegiate competition, Mason Webb was named the tenth best speaker in the junior division of parliamentary debate at the first tournament, said Coach Josh House. Schools from California, Texas, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Oregon and others competed.

At the second tournament, the team of Garret VonKrosigk and Danielle Gray won second place in the junior division of Parliamentary debate after narrowly losing to the University of Nevada at Reno in the final round.

“In addition to the awards the team brought home, the other major highlight of the weekend was achieving three victories versus only one defeat against rivals from Eastern Wyoming,” House added.
