CWC ON FRONT LINES OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY
For the fourth time, Central Wyoming College is being recognized as one of the nation’s top-10 community colleges on the front lines of digital technology.
CWC is ranked second in the nation among colleges with less than 5,000 students by the Center for Digital Education, which conducted a survey documenting advances made by community colleges in utilizing information technology.
The seventh annual survey examined areas of at technology integration into college curriculum and campus life, documenting use of online admissions processes, distance education, technology training for students and faculty, campus security alerts, use of Web 2.0 social and collaborative capabilities as well as online tutoring and advisory services.
“CWC is implementing innovative projects and programs with technology that are setting new standards for post-secondary education,” said John Wood, CWC’s Chief Information Officer. Wood said CWC is committed to improve delivery of services to students as well as leading the way for proving that enhanced learning environments make a difference in a student’s college experience as well as in their careers.
CWC’s sister college in Cheyenne, Laramie County Community College, tied for fourth place with t in the mid-sized college category. The small college category in which CWC placed second is the largest of the categories judged by Center for Digital Education.
