Riverton Center

The Central Wyoming College Outreach Center in Riverton is a vital link between the college and residents in the community. Each year, more than 100 classes provide training and educational opportunities in fields as diverse as art, cooking, grant writing and energy conservation. Here's a link to a PDF of the 2014 Fall Schedule (700 KB) of non-credit classes.

Students in these classes range from pre-schoolers in pottery to senior citizens in computer classes. Class length reflects content and student need: some classes meet only once for a few hours, other classes may meet 40 or more hours over the course of a semester.

Some classes are offered several times throughout a semester to meet student demand - First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) are good examples. Some courses, like computer training, are offered consistently every semester while others, like gardening and Christmas crafts, are seasonal. Courses meet in the evenings and on Saturdays to accommodate the majority of the students who are working adults in the area.
