Rustler Spotlight-Amy Chidester
Amy Chidester is a sophomore at CWC studying pre-health.
“I really enjoy anatomy and I’ve always liked Science,” Chidester said. “I want a career where I can help people.” After determining her degree at CWC Chidester has future goals of becoming an occupational therapist so she can continue to help people.
It was during a campus tour when Chidester decided to start her undergraduate degree CWC. She said the people were nice and real about what life at CWC was like. Chidester also knew CWC was a good start in pre-health with the on-campus cadaver lab.
Chidester has plans to transfer to Colorado Mesa University after completing her associate’s degree at CWC.
Chidester is from Green River, Wyoming and as a CWC student is involved in many campus activities. She is a student ambassador, tutor, resident assistant and an anatomy lab technician. She enjoys being part of the Wyofanatics club, spending time with friends and enjoying music.
Chidester was nominated by faculty member Maygen Cassity, professor of communication.
I have had the pleasure of getting to know Amy as her instructor and adviser for the Student Ambassadors. Amy is an impressive student, and it is evident that she takes her academics seriously. However, I believe Amy's personal attributes are what make her such a remarkable young woman. As a Student Ambassador she embraces every service opportunity possible, and she does so with a smile on her face. She is a natural leader, whose tenacity and positive attitude is inspiring. ”
