CWC Cross country team returns from championship

The Central Wyoming College cross country team returned from National Junior College Athletic Association cross country championship in El Dorado, Kansas. Seven teammembers raced at the invitational with the Rustlers top female runner Jessica Stewart finishing with a time of 23:27 and placing 263rd overall. Rebekah Hutchison finished 279th with a final time of 24:09 and Jessie Walker finished 296th with a final time of 24:50. There were 316 runners in the women’s division.
The men’s race had 306 runners with Tyler Ellicott leading for the Rustlers in 198th with a final time of 28:52. Trenton Smith finished 231st with a final time of 29:52, James Asmus in 252nd with a final time of 30:46 and Duncan Makin in 281st with a final time of 32:21.

It was a great experience and well deserved trip. All these kids will be back next season except for James, who will be graduating. It was the largest cross country race of there life. "
