About Dubois Dubois, Wyoming is situated in the "high country" of the nation. The elevation of the town (6,900 feet) provides for an average 300 sunny days a year. The valley is surrounded by mountains including the Wind River Range, the Absarokas and the painted hills. Dubois is a town for all seasons with an economy focusing on hiking, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, horseback riding, and various other activities that an outdoor mecca provides. Some of the world's finest dude and guest ranches are located in the area. In addition, Dubois is a gateway community serving tourists on their way to Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks.
