Everything you need to know about Success Coaching at CWC.
A Success Coach is your go-to person for academic planning, career exploration, financial aid and scholarships, campus resources, registration, navigating challenges, staying on track for graduation, and transferring to your next steps.
Yes. All new CWC students must meet with a Success Coach. It is highly recommended that you meet regularly. If you are on academic or financial aid probation, regular meetings are required to create and follow an academic success plan.
Coaches respond to questions within 24 hours (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.). If your coach is unavailable, another coach can assist you. Expect proactive outreach, too — we care about your journey.
When meeting with a Success Coach, you can expect: a review of placement scores and transcripts, academic planning aligned with your goals, financial aid and funding planning, an overview of campus resources, proactive consideration of potential barriers, and class registration (including New Student Orientation).
To make the most of your appointment: complete the CWC Admissions Application and enrollment checklist, submit relevant transcripts (high school, GED/HiSET, previous college), submit placement scores (ACT/SAT or schedule ALEKS via the CWC Test Center), complete the FAFSA and scholarship application, and explore CWC programs and degree options. New degree-seeking students should plan 1.5 hours; returning students should plan 1 hour.
All degree-seeking students are assigned a Faculty Advisor after initial registration. Faculty Advisors help with class registration after your first semester, ensure you stay on track for graduation, provide field-specific expertise, assist with internships and career preparation, and help you transition to four-year institutions.
