SUMMARY:Gracie Survival Tactics Level 1 Training
DESCRIPTION:Central Wyoming College will host Gracie Survival Tactics Level 1 training this spring\, offering local and statewide law enforcement officers an opportunity to receive modern defensive tactics instruction focused on de-escalation\, control\, and injury reduction. \nThe five-day training will take place Monday through Friday\, June 8–12\, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily in the Riverton High School wrestling room. The cost to attend is $1\,500. Registration is available online here. \nThe program is hosted in collaboration with the Riverton Police Department and the Lander Police Department\, highlighting a shared dedication to improving officer preparedness and community safety. \nGracie Survival Tactics is part of the Gracie University system\, developed by the family that introduced Brazilian jiu-jitsu to the United States. The program emphasizes control-based techniques that help officers safely manage physical encounters while minimizing injury to both officers and subjects. \nAs agencies nationwide prioritize de-escalation strategies\, this training provides practical\, effective tools designed to enhance professionalism\, reduce risk\, and build trust in police-civilian interactions.
