SUMMARY:Protecting the Circle: Addressing Human Trafficking\, MMIP & MMIR
DESCRIPTION:Central Wyoming College’s Institute of Tribal Learning invites the community to attend Protecting the Circle\, a two-hour event focused on raising awareness and inspiring action around human trafficking and Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR). \nThis program brings together national and local voices to connect global issues of exploitation with the realities faced in the Wind River community. \nKeynote Speaker:Tyler Schwab — Human Rights Activist & Author\, Founder/President at Libertas International \nFeatured speakers include local leaders of MMIP and MMIR307 \nThe event will also incorporate cultural protocols\, including cedaring and prayers led by Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone elders\, grounding the conversation in community\, tradition\, and healing. \nAttendees will gain a deeper understanding of these critical issues and learn how to support local initiatives\, including participation in MMIP Awareness Day on May 5. \nDate: Tuesday\, April 21\, 2026Time: 4–6 p.m.Location: CWC Health & Science Building\, Room HS100 \nAll community members are encouraged to attend. \nFor more information contact CWC Institute of Tribal Learning at 307-855-2142 or ahubbard@cwc.edu
