SUMMARY:Native Currents Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Exhibition: Wednesday\, May 28 – Friday\, August 29\, 2025\nOpening Reception: Tuesday\, June 24\, 2025; 6-7 p.m. \nThis is an exhibit amplifying Indigenous voices and challenging dominant narratives by showcasing contemporary Native artists both locally and across the United States. Through a curated collection of innovative and inspiring works\, our goal is to present art from an Indigenous perspective\, celebrating the depth\, resilience\, and evolving creativity of Native communities. \nAward money: $500 \nCurated by Nita Kehoe and Al Hubbard \n\n\nNita Kehoe\, Professor of Art and Gallery Director has been a practicing artist for 35 years.  She creates conceptual artwork focusing on the intersection between humanity and nature.  She has exhibited her artwork internationally and is in numerous collections.  She teaches ceramics\, sculpture and art history at Central Wyoming College for the past 24 years. \n\n\n\n\nAl Hubbard\, is a multi-disciplinary contemporary indigenous artist. SUMMARY:Hot Notes Cool Nites
DESCRIPTION:Hot Notes | Cool Nites Concerts in the Park will begin its 2025 season in the Riverton City Park on June 30 at 7:00 PM. The Joey Leone Band will be featured as the guest artist. The other concerts this summer will be July 7 (Lander City Park)\, July 14 (Shoshoni)\, July 21 (Riverton)\, and July 28 (Lander). \nThe CWC Community band will perform programs of classical\, contemporary\, and popular band music at each of the five concerts according to Dr. Jeremy Cochran\, the band’s director. \nKelly Dehnert\, the Manager of HNCN\, said there is a wonderful lineup of Guest Artists for the concerts this year including the Joey Leone Band (June 30)\, Dave Beegle (July 7)\, South Pass Jass Band (July 14)\, Lights Along the Shore (July 21)\, and Davis and Mavrick (July 28). \nThe Hot Notes | Cool Nites Concerts are sponsored in part by the Lander and Riverton Recreation Boards\, Home Source Realty\, Wyoming Arts Council\, Rocky Mountain Agronomy\, Wind River Visitors Council\, Teton Therapies\, LOR Foundation\, and the City of Shoshoni. \nThe concerts are free\, but Dehnert noted\, “We pass the sousaphone for any contributions the audience can make to the series.” \nAccording to Cochran\, the Community band is always looking for band musicians who are “young or old.” The band rehearses before the concerts at 5:30 pm and is served dinner by the DOES in Riverton and Covenant Presbyterian Church in Lander.
