START-UP INSTITUTE FEATURED IN FORBES

START-UP INSTITUTE FEATURED IN FORBES

Great things are happening for Central Wyoming College and Silicon Couloir as their entrepreneurship program gains national recognition in a January 21 article by Cheryl Conner in Forbes Magazine.  In 2011, CWC’s Dean for Workforce and Community Education, Lynne McAuliffe recognized the need tor support innovation and entrepreneurial education.  McAuliffe secured a generous grant from the Department of Labor that has been instrumental in launching and funding the Start-Up Institute in Jackson,  a program that helps entrepreneurs create and execute business goals. Key strategic partnerships have brought needed resources together to foster the growth of the program which brings innovators from across the country to Wyoming.  The Workforce Training Fund Grant and the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services will provide special funds for Wyoming entrepreneurs who are ready to launch a business in the state. “It is so exciting to see the success from the Start-Up Institute.  We have the perfect combination of talent and resources to create this top notch entrepreneurship program in Jackson, WY,” said CWC’s Dean McAuliffe.

The article highlights Liza Millet, CWC program director and Sandy Hessler, instructor for entrepreneurship and their passion for creating a program that gives entrepreneurs the knowledge, skills, and supportive network they need to launch a winning company.
