Third CWC forensic team member qualifies for nationals

A third member of Central Wyoming College's forensics team qualified for a national tournament after competing in an event at Glendale Community College in Phoenix, Arizona.
Jordon Barthel joins Daryon Baumberger and Riley Moore to compete at the National Individual Events Tournament (NIET) in early April.
Baumberger and Barthel took fourth place in Duo Interpretation at both tournaments, which was enough for the pair to qualify for the national event. Duo Interpretation is an event in which two students work together to perform a cutting from a piece of literature or dramatic script.
Baumberger, in her first year at CWC, had previous qualified by finishing second in the After Dinner Speaking at a tournament at the University of Utah. Moore qualified in persuasive speaking at nationals this year, giving CWC a total of four entries.
In addition to the NIET, the trio will also represent CWC at Phi Rho Pi, the Community College national tournament, said Coach Josh House. "That tournament will be held in Denver on April 7-12 and the students will be competing under the ‘Degree of Honor' designation due to their consistent competitive excellence throughout the year," he said.
