Are you interested in volunteering in our ESL Department?

Jackson's ESL Department occasionally needs volunteers to help with classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., as well as during registration weeks and in the office. Over 90% of our student body is Latino, so Spanish skills would be helpful during registration and distance learning trainings, but are not necessary to assist in the classrooms.

Some students are enrolled in a distance learning program. They must go through a training and come in for monthly check-ins to assess their progress. The training includes:

  • How to log in and log off of CWC computers
  • How to use the computer mouse and keyboard
  • How to open an e-mail account and send e-mail
  • How to open a USALearns account and use the program
  • How to track study hours and quiz scores on their Time Tracker

Contact the ESL Department if interested.
