The Lander Center offers many of the same testing services available on Riverton's campus.  Students will need to call the Lander Center to schedule a testing appointment.  All testers are required to provide a photo ID at the time of testing.

Lander Center Testing Hours

Monday - Friday

8:00am to 5:00pm

     (no tests begin after 3:00pm)


COMPASS Placement Tests

COMPASS tests allow unlimited time; testers should allow themselves at least 1.5 hours to complete all three sections (English grammar, math and reading).

  • First test is free for all CWC applicants and students, $10 for all retakes
  • CWC allows for 3 retakes each section each semester
  • Testers need to contact the Lander Center to schedule an appointment
  • Resources for preparing for COMPASS

  • COMPASS cut scores for CWC in reading, math and English 


Internal CWC Exams

The Lander Center can proctor CWC Exams for students.  However, the student must receive permission from their instructor prior to taking the exam.

  • Students need to contact the Lander Cener to schedule an appointment
  • Students will need to make arrangements with their instructors to ensure proctor information is sent to the Lander Center


Distance Education Exams

The Lander Center also has the ability to proctor exams for students' online courses.

  • Students will need to make arrangements with their instructor to ensure proctor information is sent to the Lander Center.
  • Exams from Wyoming community colleges and the University of Wyoming are free of charge
  • Exams from out-of-state institutions cost $15 (cash or check only)



  • Applied math, reading for information, locating information exams (for Hathaway scholarship option 3) are offered
  • $48 for series
  • Testers no longer get a "workforce readiness" certificate after completion of the test. Students can purchase the certificate (for a $20 fee) by logging into the WorkKeys website.
