What are the hours of operation for the Lander Center?

The Lander Center is open year round, Monday through Friday.  

 

Hours are as follows:

 

September - May

Monday - Thursday

8:00am to 8:00pm

Friday

8:00am to 5:00pm

 

May - August

Monday - Friday

When are classes offered at the Lander Center?

Generally, classes taught by our adjunct instructors are offered Monday through Thursday, in the evenings.  Classes taught by faculty through our Interactive Classroom Network (ICN) are offered at various times throughout the day, Monday through Friday. How can I purchase textbooks?

Textbooks are available for purchase at the CWC Bookstore.  Book lists for each semester are located on their website.  If students pay for books over the phone with a debit or credit card, the bookstore will courier the books to the Lander Center for students to pick up.  For more information, please contact the bookstore at (307) 855-2201 or toll free at 800.735.8418 ext 2201.

 

Where can I pay for my tuition and fees?

Students can pay for their tuition. fees and housing at the Lander Center.  Students can pay with a cash, check or credit/debit card.  The staff at the Lander Center also has the ability to set up payment plans for students.  Students can make payments to their student accounts Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

 

Where can I live?

A variety of housing options are available for Lander residents at the Sinks Canyon Center campus.  Please contact housing for more information, 307-855-2210 or toll-free at 800-735-8418, ext. 2210.

 

Is tutoring available?

Peer tutoring is available in Math and English at the CWC Lander Center. Students will need to check with the front desk for a current tutoring schedule, as it can change from semester to semester. Summer tutoring may also be offered, depending on tutor availability. Students can call the Lander Center for information on summer tutoring hours and topics covered.

 

Online tutoring is free and available in all subjects for CWC students. To access this program, students will need to:

1. Log in to their MyCentral account

2. Click on the blue SmartThinking link.

 

Is there a computer lab available for students?

Yes!  The Lander Center has a computer lab with printing capabilities, located in Room 114.  The computer lab's hours of operation are:

  • Monday: 8:00am to 8:00pm
  • Tuesday: 8:00am to 8:00pm
  • Wednesday: 8:00am to 8:00pm
  • Thursday: 8:00am to 8:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm

 

Can I get a test proctored at the Lander Center?

Yes!  The Lander Center can accommodate as proctor for a variety of exams.  Students will need to call the Lander Center to schedule a time to test, and to ensure all the needed information has been provided to the the staff at the Lander Center.

  • COMPASS Placement Test. For incoming or current CWC students.

​- Fee: No fee for first time testers, $10 for any additional re-tests.

  • CWC Course Exams. Upon prior approval from the course instructor, students may have the ability to take CWC exams at the Lander Center.

- Fee: No fee

  • Exams from other Wyoming educational institutions.  Students will need to make an appointment at the Lander Center and make prior arrangements to ensure the test proctor information has been sent to the Lander Center.

​- Fee: No fee

  • Exams from out-of-state educational institutions. Students will need to make an appointment at the Lander Center and make prior arrangements to ensure the test proctor information has been sent to the Lander Center.

How can I get my Student ID/CWC Rusty Card?

Effective Fall 2014, students will be issued CWC Rusty Cards that will replace Student IDs.  This card will not only act as a student's ID, but can also be used as a debit card and an account to which financial aid disbursements will be deposited.  Students can fill out the necessary paperwork at the Lander Center in order to obtain their CWC Rusty Card. Cards will be delivered to the Lander Center, where the student can pick them up. For more information on the CWC Rusty Card, please click here.

 

Where can I park?

Parking is available in the lot across from the CWC Lander Center, or on side streets.

  • The fire hall lot is reserved for volunteers so they may quickly respond to emergencies.
  • The Gambles parking lot is reserved for their customers.

 

We encourage and support green transportation! Bike racks are available for your use next to the front doors. Please lock and secure your bike. Bikes are not allowed inside the building.

 

Is public transportation available to CWC's Riverton Campus?

WRTA provides bus service from various areas in the county, and is free only when students start/end at CWC and show their CWC ID. For a current schedule, visit www.wrtabuslines.com or call (307) 856-7118.
