Help us meet the $10,000 goal
The Central Wyoming College Foundation has been given a special opportunity by the Si Puedo Scholarship donors Fred and Alice Nicol. They have challenged the Foundation and CWC staff to raise $2,500 in donations that in combination with the donors’ matching donations and the State of Wyoming’s Endowment Challenge program, the initial gift will be quadrupled.
The Si Puedo Scholarship Endowment was created by Fred and Alice Nicol to give first and second generation Latino immigrant students the opportunity to make a better life for themselves and their family. Earnings from this fund shall be used to provide scholarships to support students who are enrolled in classes at the CWC Jackson Center and who meet the following criteria:
a. GPA of 2.5 or better (high school or college transcript) or GED score of 500 (using Hathaway Scholarship Criteria);
b. Students who are first or second generation Latino immigrant ;
c. Students shall complete a goal statement/essay containing the following information:
i. Why the student wants to attend CWC
ii. What their goals are
iii. What their financial situation currently is
iv. How this scholarship would help them achieve their goal
An endowment is a permanently restricted fund used for a specific purpose as determined by the donor(s). The donations are invested per CWC Foundation policy to allow the fund to grow. Endowments distribute awards of no more than 5 percent of the total asset on an annual basis to keep the principle intact and allow the fund to mature.
