Valerie Harris
Valerie Harris

Val has been teaching math courses at CWC since 2001 and was the president of the Wyoming Mathematics Association for Two-Year Colleges from 2006-08.
Her degrees are from Central Michigan College and she worked as a middle and high school teacher before joining the CWC staff.
In her spare time, Val enjoys horseback riding and endurance racing. She is the president of Back Country Horsemen.

We were excited to learn  that Valerie Harris's Math 1400 60 class has been recognized as meeting Quality Matters review standards.  Her course was reviewed by a trained Quality Matters Peer Review Team.  It had to meet each of the 17 essential standards.

The Quality Matters™ program is a faculty-centered peer course review Quality Assurance process. Review criteria are linked to external standards; criteria and process are supported through instructional design principles; and the process is vetted by faculty experts. The goals of the program are to increase student retention, learning and satisfaction in online courses by implementing better course design.  Quality Matters is sponsored by MarylandOnline and has been adopted by hundreds of higher education institutions across forty states and Canada.  CWC is a member of the Wyoming Consortium, which consists of six Wyoming Community Colleges.
