Angel Sparkman
Angel and her family love to travel, and the Sparkmans finally made a move to Wyoming where her family had vacationed on several occasions. The Assistant Professor of Business Management has been with CWC since 2007 and taught previously at Meridian Community College in Meridian, MS and Itawamba Community College in Tupelo, MS.
A southern girl, Angel graduated from Mississippi State University, earning a bachelor's in psychology and an MBA. "With my accent, some of my lectures become quite interesting," she says. "Seriously, I have the opportunity to share life with my students every day."
She works with the nationally ranked CWC Rustlers rodeo teams to help them promote the team and to market the Rustler Roundup Rodeo, which is held on the second weekend of September in Riverton.
In her marketing class, Angel has her students developing marketing plans for real businesses. In her Small Business Practices class, students develop their own business plan so that they can start a small business. "My goal in every class that I teach is to daily give you a new skill that you can use to better your life."
Her free time is spent with her husband and three children, supporting anything they do. "I love to watch and play just about any sport," she said. She is a member of the Lander Art Center and the Lander Children's Museum. She was nominated for Phi Theta Kappa Teacher of the Year in 2009.
