CWC offers Saturday OSHA training

Central Wyoming College is offering a 30-hour General Industry Outreach Training on Saturdays in February that result in an OSHA card.

To accommodate those working in the field, CWC Environment, Health and Safety instructor John Kemp is offering the course on every Saturday in February from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Main Hall 163.

The course introduces students to OSHA policies, procedures and standards found in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). Emphasis is placed on safety as a core value in the workplace and on the elimination and/or mitigation of hazardous conditions, Kemp said. The scope and application of OSHA construction standards contained in 29 CFR 1926 and general industry standards contained in 29 CFR 1910 is also addressed. Successful students will receive a 30-hour OSHA General Industry card.

The cost of the three credit course is $276 plus the cost of textbooks. For more information, contact Kemp at (307) 855-2238. Students can register at the Registration and Records Office at CWC or at the first day of the course.
